Suicides were up 41% in Montgomery County in 2010, and suicide is now the leading cause of injury-related deaths in the U.S. But there is hope, because suicide is preventable. By learning the warning signs and risk factors for suicide and how to access help, we can intervene in about 95% of suicide completions/attempts. Through prevention, intervention, and postvention, we can have a positive impact on these terrible statistics.
