Details about today's St. PatROCKs party are HERE

FREE CAB RIDE INFO - ArriveSafe, the brainchild of Montgomery County  Prosecutor Mat Heck offers free cab rides home to St. Patrick’s Day  revelers. Prosecutor Heck reminds holiday revelers: “There is simply no excuse  to drink and drive this St. Patrick's Day weekend. Call ArriveSafe — remember, the life you save may be your  own!"

AAA Public Affairs Manager Cindy Antrican encourages those who plan to  celebrate the holiday with alcohol to “plan before they party."

Three options available  to celebrate the holiday responsibly:

Take advantage of a free cab ride home by calling ArriveSafe (937)
449-9999
anytime beginning Friday, March 15, at 6 p.m. running
through Monday,  March 18, at 6 a.m. Rides offered to Montgomery County residents covering fares  up to $50.

Ask a family member or friend to be your designated driver. Dublin Pub,  Flanagan's Pub and Boston's Bistro & Pub will provide free AAA Designated  Driver wrist bands and offer complimentary
non-alcoholic beverages to designated  drivers.

The Crowne Plaza, downtown Dayton, will offer special room rates of $94 to  party goers. For reservations contact the hotel at (937) 224-0800 and request  the Dublin Pub St. Patrick’s Day rate. Free shuttle service to the Crowne Plaza,  compliments of Dublin Pub and Flanagan’s Pub, will be available with departures  from both locations. Free parking for Flanagan’s Pub guests is available at the  Montgomery County Fairgrounds and vehicles may be left over night.

Don’t be a statistic:

Nearly half of the 1,008 fatal crashes reported in 2012 for Ohio were alcohol  related.

The Ohio Traffic Safety Office reported last year during the 24-hour  reporting period for St. Patrick’s Day – 5 out of 6 traffic fatalities in Ohio  were OVI-related.

Drinking and driving is viewed as a very serious threat by 87 percent of  drivers and the related social disapproval is almost universal. However, data  released by the AAA Foundation for Traffic Safety found that one in ten drivers  reported having driven when they thought
that their alcohol level might have  been close to or possibly over the legal limit.

Additional support for ArriveSafe
provided by Heidelberg Distributing.

We should all be thanking Mr. Heck for this outstanding program. It keeps cases out of his courts and is no doubt responsible for saving many lives. Well done sir! M
