Victoria Theatre Association presents the internationally-acclaimed Beatles concert, EXPERIENCE THE BEATLES WITH RAIN on March 26-27 at 8 p.m. at the Benjamin & Marian Schuster Performing Arts Center. Tickets are on sale now at the Ticket Center Stage Box Office, by phone at (937) 228-3630, toll-free (888) 228-3630 or online at Ticketcenterstage.com. As “the next best thing to seeing The Beatles!” (Associated Press), RAIN performs the full range of The Beatles' discography live onstage, including the most complex and challenging songs that The Beatles themselves recorded in the studio but never performed for an audience. Together longer than The Beatles, RAIN has mastered every song, gesture and nuance of the legendary foursome, delivering a totally live, note-for-note performance that’s as infectious as it is transporting. From the early hits to later classics (“I Want To Hold Your Hand”, “Hard Day’s Night”, “Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band”, “Let It Be”, “Come Together”, “Hey Jude” and more), this adoring tribute will take you back to a time when all you needed was love, and a little help from your friends! Like The Beatles, the onstage members of RAIN are not only supreme musicians, but electrifying performers in their own right. Single tickets for EXPERIENCE THE BEATLES WITH RAIN start at just $21 and are on sale now at the Ticket Center Stage Box Office, by phone at (937) 228-3630, toll-free (888) 228-3630 or online at Ticketcenterstage.com. Grammy Hall of Fame Names New Inductees
Some new additions to the Grammy Hall of Fame have been announced, and some veteran singers such as the late Whitney Houston, Billy Joel and Elton John are among those whose songs are inducted into the coveted list. A Paul McCartney and Wings album has become the former Beatle’s first entry into the Grammy Hall of Fame
joining both the Beatles and John Lennon in the honor. The Paul McCartney and Wings album “Band on the Run” was among the 27 new inductees for 2013. Although the Beatles and John Lennon have been honored in past years, the album is McCartney’s first for the Grammy Hall of Fame, which acknowledges both singles and album recordings at least 25 years old that exhibit “qualitative or historical significance.” Also inducted this year was Buck Owens’ “Act Naturally,” which was covered by the Beatles and sung by Ringo Starr. Starr later recorded a duet version with Owens.

Don’t be a statistic:
Nearly half of the 1,008 fatal crashes reported in 2012 for Ohio were alcohol related.
The Ohio Traffic Safety Office reported last year during the 24-hour reporting period for St. Patrick’s Day – 5 out of 6 traffic fatalities in Ohio were OVI-related.
Drinking and driving is viewed as a very serious threat by 87 percent of drivers and the related social disapproval is almost universal. However, data released by the AAA Foundation for Traffic Safety found that one in ten drivers reported having driven when they thought
that their alcohol level might have been close to or possibly over the legal limit.
Additional support for ArriveSafe
provided by Heidelberg Distributing.
We should all be thanking Mr. Heck for this outstanding program. It keeps cases out of his courts and is no doubt responsible for saving many lives. Well done sir! M

Paul McCartney has become close friends with Johnny Depp since the actor agreed to appear in one of the star’s music videos earlier this year. The Beatles legend recruited Depp, along with actress Natalie Portman, to star in the promo for “My Valentine,” in which they are seen using sign language to translate the song’s lyrics. McCartney has been acquainted with Depp for many years, but they only grew close after the video project, and the actor is now a regular visitor at the musician’s home. The rocker reveals his relatives are all extremely impressed with his “cool” new friend and they tend to get all dressed up when they know he’s coming over. Sir Paul says Depp “brought me this funky little guitar as a gift. He’s a really decent player.”
