Because of a @#$%&*! computer virus, your internet access may be blocked come this summer.  I checked into it (on Snopes) and it is legit.  Read the article then come back here for a couple things that are perplexing me about this.

I did my own checking and while it seems to be legitimate, it is nonetheless odd.  Take for instance the wording about there being a half million affected originally and that number is down to 300,000+. Among those 85,000 are in the US.  Here's the weird part, it says the 2 new servers cost $85,000 to purchase and run.  Since when does the Federal Govt bitch about a paltry sum of $87,000 for 3/4 of a year when its protecting that many people, and really the story seemed to suggest that it was for the total amount, the 300K users.  Even more of a conundrum - does it only cost just over one dollar to run a computer on a server for 8 MONTHS??  (85,000 cpu's = $87,000)   Again, if we're talking 360,000 cpu's that amount would be pennies on the dollar!
